KONG Conference Activation

KM Everyone,

After getting off the community call, the members present are proposing to do an activation at ETHBoulder and/or ETHDenver in February 2026. The goal of this activation is to:

  • Create a repeatable exhibit or guerilla activity that can travel to multiple venues
  • Showcase the applications of Kong chips as payment processors, membership tokens, proofs of event attendance, and re-marketing identifiers
  • Demonstrate and improve the accompanying chip management technology such as ERS or Agora
  • Recruit developers and citizens to the open source community
  • Source chip consumers and enterprises looking to run similar activations or projects, and
  • Build a repeatable revenue pipeline from these leads

This activation could include a booth, a truck rental, a party, and/or other elements to drive traffic to the experience, and connect the initial interaction to some reward (eg interact with the booth and get a ticket to the party). There is also the possibility that we can create a referral program which would drive revenue to the DAO when people build on the platforms we refer them to.

We’re looking for ideas and contributions on how to make this the best possible activation that drives results for the above mentioned goals.

Thanks @cadillion for getting the ball rolling with this post. This initiative is in line with spending KONG Land treasury in order to create a sustainable revenue source.

Additional possible concepts:

  • Using Burner / Burner Terminal in order to get end users to spend in crypto
  • Using Burner Terminal for check-ins with HaLo chips
  • A deeper focus on HaLo chip tooling (e.g. end to end minting tool)
  • A smaller Citizens-only focused event

Concerns included the ‘noise’ around EthDenver and how we can do something distinctive, noting the significant effort that went into the Rerro Quest with limited results.
